1993 RX7 w/ ls2 v8 - widebody conversion
This was the second car I've ever done body and paint work to.
First things first, existing paint was sanded down. Did all necessary body work and straightening.
Candid shots of what this car was packing. The sound of this car was bloody amazing.
Test fitting and mounting the high quality wide body kit. Front fenders gave the car a wider stance as well as the rear fender flares. I won't disclose what brand/type of kit since I have no intention of giving free company plug-in. XD
Before mounting the rear fender flares I decided to paint some jams and stuff. The owner went with a BMW Blue color. DuPont Chromax Water Based setup.
Time to mount the rear fender flares.
Would be pretty ricey to just slap the flares on and not making it actual wide body no?
We then decided to blend in the flare to the body of the car and make the lines rounded. I sanded countless hours by hand and with sanding block to get the perfect flow.
Making final adjustments and lining up / fitment adjustments etc.
Primered the whole car before paint.
How the car looked when it left here.
The FD was eventually taken to a professional detailer for final stages.
This car was a tremendous project for me given my experience at the time. I learned a lot during and afterwards. I wanna thank my friend for choosing me to do this for him. If I could, I would do it all over again with greater workmanship and satisfaction on both party's end. I still follow this car, and from what I last heard it's a monster performance wise.
